The Challenge

With all of the various project types managed by our client, they were certain there was a way to evaluate similar projects based on specified criteria. They wanted to quickly and easily compare projects based on items like Contract Size ($ amount), Square footage, etc. They had the data available within various Excel spreadsheets, so this is where our journey began.

The Solution

Once we were able to import all of their data into Smartsheet, we used Smartsheet’s Reports, heavily relying specifically on the “sheet summary” reports to create comparison views. Within the individual project data sheets, the client insisted that their layout match closely to the Excel sheet source we’d imported which resulted in extensive cell linking throughout the sheets. The customer was pleased to be able to reveal a process to their team that had minimal changes to the look and feel they were familiar with within Excel.
